Welcome to Marshfield Primary School...

It is a great pleasure to welcome you, on behalf of all staff, Governors, parents and children, to the website of Marshfield Primary School in Little Horton, Bradford West Yorkshire.

At Marshfield Primary School we aim to provide our children with the best possible education and to develop the whole child during their time with us. The schools aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality. This is achieved through a happy, stimulating learning environment where excellent staff and resources ensure the children achieve their potential.

We believe that this is achieved through a close and trusting relationship between home and school, working together at all times to promote the vision, aims and ethos of the school and community. We are committed to raising standards and the cultivation of positive achievements through exciting learning.

The staff and Governors recognise the essential involvement of the local and global community and extend a sincere welcome to all interested parties to a participation and greater understanding of communities and school working side by side to improve life chances for our children.

The Under 11 Boys Team went to Tong on Tuesday evening to participate in round 2 of the league fixtures for the Bradford School Sport Enterprise competition. Playing the type of passing football usually associated with Barcelona(!), the boys played four games, winning three of them 4-0, 3-0 and 2-0, whilst drawing the other 0-0 in a tough defensive battle. The boys now have eight fixtures remaining over two more rounds, and are currently P8, W4, D2, L2 in total.

A big well done to Waqas Iqbal, Tanvir Ali, Abbas Khan, Daniel Bailey, Bilal Hussain, Hussain Nadeem and Hamzah Ikram for once again representing the school and showing a willingness to play, learn and achieve together!

Digital Leaders Training

Congratulations to 5 of our children in Years 5 and 6, who have been selected to take part in Bradford's Digital Leaders Training.

Children at Marshfield have been selected to undertake this training as one of only 12 schools across the whole of Bradford.

As part of this training. the children will be involved in leading training for new technologies to children and staff across school.

Dragon's Den

As you may be aware, all children and staff have been working very hard following the launch of our very own Dragon's Den project. Mrs Penrose has been extremely impressed with the way in which the children have worked within their teams and created ideas for a product or service. This Thursday will be a very important day for them as they will be pitching their business plans to the four 'Dragons'. The whole morning will be filmed by KEO filming group and will the be aired in the near future as part of a BBC 2 documentary focusing on Positive Bradford. Thank you to one of our 'Dragons' Naveed for putting us in touch with them.

We wish all the children lots of luck and know that they will do themselves and the school proud!

Attendance

Last term we had 211 children, who achieved 100% attendance - a big well done to them all!

We would like to remind you to make every effort to ensure that your child attends school every day, where possible, and on time. Children need to be at school for 8:55 so that they are in class and ready to learn for 9:00.

CMIM

Race 3

Well, what can we say - another excellent victory by our Year 6 CMIM group, who came first in the third race! They are currently in joint first position in their league with 26 points!
