Week ending 10th October 2014
Thank you to all who attended school on Monday and celebrated Eid during the afternoon parties. Our magician, Simon, was a huge hit with the children and staff alike. Everybody looked amazing and it was enjoyable talking to the children about the reasons for celebrating Eid. This week, I have had the oppotunity to see some fantastic work as part of the outdoor work they have been doing. Please could I remind you to ensure that children arrive at school appropriately dressed for this day. We also saw the departure of Mr Hanif - we wish him all the best and thank him for all his hard work with our Year 6 children. I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Acting Headteacher of Marshfield Primary School; a position I am very excited to be embracing. Many of you have known me for the 10 years that I have worked at the school; a school at which I began my career as a trainee teacher. Throughout this time, I have been very fortunate to have been part of such a dedicated and driven team who always strive to provide our children with nothing less than the best possible education.
Having grown up in BD5 myself, I have seen the many struggles our families face; I have also seen the many successes our area has produced through positive changes in attitudes and integrations into our diverse community. Marshfield has always been at the heart of the community and it is with this continuous support that I shall be continuing with the fabulous work already taking place as well as taking the school on a new journey in which life chances for all our children are further developed. Every day shall be the best day for our children.
MARSHFIELD PRIMARY SCHOOL
On behalf of all the staff, Governors, parents/carers and children, we welcome you to our school website. Whilst browsing our site, you will hopefully see that through a highly innovative and exciting curriculum, all the fabulous learning experiences our children are provided with by a team of dedicated staff.
At Marshfield Primary School we aim to provide our children with the best possible education and to develop the whole child, both academically and personally, during their time with us. The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality. All children succeed and leave our school with high aspirations.
We believe that this is achieved through a close and trusting relationship between home and school, working together at all times to promote the vision, aims and ethos of the school and community. We are committed to raising standards and the cultivation of positive achievements through exciting learning.
The staff and Governors recognise the essential involvement of the local and global community and extend a sincere welcome to all interested parties to a participation and greater understanding of communities and school working side by side to improve life chances for all our children.
